To remove a no-longer required appender, use the following rhino-console commands, and related MBean methods.

Console command: `removeappender`

Command	removeappender <appenderName> Description Remove all references to an appender and remove the appender. Required Arguments appenderName The name of the Appender.
Example	$ ./rhino-console removeappender TraceNotification Removed appender: TraceNotification

removeappender <appenderName>
  Description
    Remove all references to an appender and remove the appender.
  Required Arguments
    appenderName  The name of the Appender.

Example

$ ./rhino-console removeappender TraceNotification
Removed appender: TraceNotification
