The persistence configuration is contained within the <persistence> element in the configuration file. The <persistence> element may contain any number of the following elements:

<persistence-instance>	Contains the configuration information for a single persistence instance
<presistence-resource>	Contains the configuration information for a single persistence resource
<jdbc-resource>	Contains the configuration information for a single jdbc resource
