This section describes how to install the nodes that make up your initial custom VM deployment OpenStack, VMware vSphere, or VMware vCloud virtual machines.
Live migration of a custom VM to a new VMware vSphere host or a new OpenStack compute node is not supported. To move such a node to a new host, remove it from the old host and re-add it to the new host.

Set up your OpenStack, VMware vSphere, or VMware vCloud deployment. |
The installation procedures assume that you are installing your custom VMs into an existing OpenStack or VMware vSphere deployment. |
Installing your custom VM deployment
The following table sets out the steps you need to take to install and commission your custom VM deployment.
Be sure you know the number of custom VMs you need in your deployment. At present it is not possible to change the size of your deployment after it has been created.
There are two ways to deploy the custom VMs: in an automated way using the SIMPL VM, or manually. It is recommended to perform an automated installation using the SIMPL VM. For VMware vCloud, the Custom VMs can only be deployed using the csar-utils Docker container.
