What are promotion tables and buckets?

Promotion tables configure active promotions, the conditions that apply, and the order in which to execute them.

Promotion buckets hold a user’s available and reserved units for a specific promotion.

Scoping a promotion configuration

Promotion configurations can be scoped to the Network, Session Type, Plan ID, or Subscription ID, using the selection widget at the top.

Adding, editing, and deleting a promotion configuration

To manage promotion configurations:

  • Click the Config tab.

    If no promotion configuration exists at the selected level, an Add New button displays.

To add a promotion configuration:

  • Click Add New.

    Promotion configuration entry fields display.

  • Enter details.

  • Click Save.

To edit a promotion configuration:

  • Make your changes.

  • Click Save.

To delete a promotion configuration:

  • Click Delete.

    A prompt asks you to confirm the deletion.

To manage promotion bucket configurations:

  • Click the Bucket Config tab.

    A list of bucket configurations displays.

To edit a promotion bucket configuration:

  • Click to select it.

    The bucket name and data source display.

  • Select the new data source.

  • Click Save.

To add a new promotion bucket configuration:

  • Click Add New.

    Blank Bucket name and Data source fields display.

  • Enter the new name, select a data source.

  • Click Save.

To delete the selected promotion bucket configurations:

  • Click Delete.

    A prompt asks you to confirm the deletion.

Editing, adding, and deleting SQL configurations

To manage SQL configurations for promotions:

  • Click the SQL Config tab.

    If there is no SQL configuration, an Add New button displays; otherwise existing SQL configuration data displays.

To add an SQL configuration:

  • Click Add New.

  • Blank entry fields display.

  • Enter details.

  • Click Save.

To edit an SQL configuration:

  • Enter details.

  • Click Save.

To delete the selected SQL configuration:

  • Click Delete.

    A prompt asks you to confirm the deletion.

  • Click the Promotion Tables tab.

To add a promotion table:

  • Click Add.

    A new promotion table displays at the top of the list.

To edit a promotion table:

  • Click a field to make it editable.

  • Make your changes.

  • Click Save.

To delete a promotion table:

  • Click delete.

    A prompt asks you to confirm the deletion.

To manage promotion buckets:

  • Click the Promotion Buckets tab.

To load a promotion bucket:

  • Enter the SubscriberId and BucketName.

  • Click Load.

    That promotion bucket displays.

To edit the loaded promotion bucket:

  • Click Edit.

    That bucket’s details become editable.

  • Make your changes, and click Save.

To delete the loaded promotion bucket:

  • Click Delete.

    A prompt asks you to confirm the deletion.

To add a new promotion bucket:

  • Click Add New.

    Fields display for you to enter details for the new promotion bucket.
